Insurance & Coverage
SmileDrive Rent a Car provides basic insurance coverage for all rental vehicles. Please read the following information carefully before making a reservation.
1. Basic Insurance Coverage
The following insurance coverage is included with your rental, subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement.

| Property Damage Liability | Unlimited per accident Customer deductible: ¥100,000 |
| Vehicle Damage Coverage | Up to the current market value of the rental vehicle Customer deductible: ¥150,000 |
| Personal Injury Coverage | Up to ¥50,000,000 per person (calculated according to the insurance policy) |
2. Non-Operation Charge (NOC)
If the rental vehicle requires repair or cleaning due to an accident, theft, breakdown, or damage during the rental period, the following Non-Operation Charge (NOC) will apply.

| The vehicle can be returned to the scheduled return location. | ¥30,000 |
| The vehicle cannot be driven and cannot be returned to the scheduled location. | ¥70,000 |
3. Optional Peace of Mind Plan
Customers may purchase our optional Peace of Mind Plan.
- Fee: ¥3,000 per 24 hours
- Waives the customer deductible for Property Damage Coverage.
- Waives the customer deductible for Vehicle Damage Coverage.
- Waives the Non-Operation Charge (NOC).
4. Insurance Exclusions
Insurance and compensation may not apply in the following situations:
- Failure to report the accident to the police.
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Driving without a valid driver's license.
- Dangerous or reckless driving.
- Damage to tires, wheels, or glass.
- Using the wrong type of fuel.
- Loss or damage of vehicle keys.
- Damage caused by a person who is not listed as an authorized driver.
- Driving on beaches, riverbeds, forest roads, or other unpaved areas.
- Damage caused by the vehicle becoming stuck in snow, mud, or similar conditions.
- Interior contamination or damage to seats and vehicle equipment.
- Any violation of the Rental Agreement or Terms and Conditions.
5. In the Event of an Accident
If an accident occurs, please ensure everyone's safety first, report the incident to the police immediately, and contact SmileDrive Rent a Car as soon as possible.
